Zoom Instructions for Cowlitz County Superior Court

Cowlitz County Superior Court uses Zoom (an online application that allows people to attend a meeting via a website link). If you do not have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone, a call-in option is also provided.

Tips for Zoom

Please review the Court rules for Zoom etiquette, especially items 10 and 11 related to hearings.
If you are not familiar with Zoom, view their tutorials.
If possible, change the name on your Zoom account to the name that is listed in your court filings. This is especially important if you are on a shared computer or go by a different name than what is listed in your court file.

How to find out which docket you are appearing on:

If you do not know which docket you are appearing on, please refer back to your docket notice, call or text me, or contact the Superior Court Clerk’s office.

How to find your docket start time:

To view your hearing start time, see the court calendar: https://cowlitzsuperiorcourt.us/zoom
Occasionally the court will change a docket start time and this may not be on the calendar. The night before your court date (after 5pm) go to: https://cowlitzsuperiorcourt.us/today to get your hearing time.
Join Zoom approximately 10 minutes prior to your hearing

HELPFUL HINT: Write the phone number down along with the meeting ID and Password prior to the docket in case you experience issues with your internet connection.

How to attend your court hearing via Zoom:

Go to https://cowlitzsuperiorcourt.us/zoom.
Find your docket hearing on the Zoom calendar.
Click on the calendar entry for your docket. This will bring up a new screen (may take a few moments to load).
To enter the courtroom, under the section where it says Join Zoom Meeting, click the link provided.
Next, click "Open Zoom Meeting". A new box will open stating “Please wait for the host to start this meeting”.
Wait for the host (Judge/Commissioner) to start the docket. (This may take several minutes. Do not disconnect.)

If you experience any issues with your computer audio or visual (camera), you can use a telephone to call into Zoom using the phone number and zoom password noted in the docket calendar.

If your court docket has not started for several minutes past the time indicated on the daily schedule, please call or text me, or contact the Superior Court Clerk’s office (option 8).
